Hi, my name is Simo Häyhä and I'm 46. I was in the Army at Ft Wainwright, Alaska as an 11C (infantry mortar-man) in 5/9 INF during Desert Storm. After 2 years in mortars, I moved to the scout squad as a sniper using the M24. As a sniper in the arctic I've been fascinated with the story of the deadliest sniper in history, Simo Häyhä (white death) who's moniker I have adopted. I was in Fairbanks, Alaska for 27 years, but have recently took up residence in Colorado. I like Arma because it is a great MilSim and takes me back to the old days. I'm very patient on the server, and have been know to run 8k to the next AO when transport is not available. Volition is the only server I play, and I would really like to see it expand. I usually play late at night from the 10pm-3am PST.2 points

Welcome! Hello, and thanks for clicking on this suggestion topic. I've been working for around a week in a small project for giving the Altis spawn area a new layer of paint. I could write here an overused and cliche "I've played on this server for so long and..." and write in a false, commercial selling overly happy language lies like the ones you see in TV commercials at 1 AM, but let's skip that part. We know how generic it gets. The original design has aged, and it doesn't hurt to give users something new to look at. No significant gameplay changer is on this project. It's mostly a layer of paint in existing assets. I'd write more information about this project, but I've written a large and decent amount of information already in the link below. Click on the text, and you'll be shown a nice informative guide of the process I did. This is all map objects. No vehicles. Please do not forget to set all I&A assets. Highlights By highlights, I mean the parts that will probably draw the most attention overall. There are a handful of them, my favorite being the new helicopter spawn area. Check the gallery for some sneak peaks! CONCEPT DESIGN GALLERY Please do let me know of your opinion. Thanks! Map Versions and Extra Information CHANGELOG1 point

HTML containing both required and optional mods for the server, they are updated as we do new missions. Steps to import mod list 1. Download html link 2. Open the Arma 3 launcher 3. Go to "Mods" tab and select "import mods from a file" under the "More" drop down tab 4. Select the HTML file from your recent downloads and subscribe to all mods that are listed 5. DO NOT LOAD "ACE", Mods that require "ACE" work just fine with "ACE No Medical" 6. Join the server and enjoy Liberation Optionals.html1 point

My name is John but my Steam ID is as you can tell dorkiller. I came up with that name 20 or so years ago. In the late 1990's I ran cat3 cable under my house to all the rooms. I made it for lan parties with my kids. We'd play FPS most of the time. A-hole fathers are supposed to call their sons dorks. So that's how I got the name. I play some flight sim but mostly Arma3. I have over 1100 hours playing the game. I have only played Arma MP a few times spread out over a year but am going to try and spend my Sundays, when possible, online. So much to learn. Eventually I would like to learn MP mission making. So enough said. See you in the trenches1 point

There are often multiple drew’s on the VS servers. I am not “bonehurtingdrew”. I’m just drew. I have nicknames from over the years but it was much faster to write just drew in Kindergarten instead of andrew so I stuck with it. I’m originally from NJ, growing up about 20 mi from NYC, but moved to NC in 1999 to change companies. Anyway, outside of gaming, I’m a married (26 yrs) homeschooling dad of 4 with 2 in college (one about to become a pilot). I’ve been PC gaming since 1983 (flight simming online since 2005) and recently served as an Operations admin of a flight sim virtual airline with about 1000 members for the last 7 years. I got burned out and love a good milsim so Arma 3 has been a great change of pace. Brings me back to my elementary school days wearing camo with plastic guns running through the woods attacking my friends base. Having started with the original Wolfenstein 3d, I’ve never really stopped enjoyment of first person shooters in my pc gaming career. I have to say Team Fortress Classic was my first multiplayer experience in PC gaming (still play occasionally). What a funny and fun time those maps are! Eventually I moved into Battlefield 1942 and ended up on Arma 3 after my best friend was recommending it for about a year. For a career to fund my gaming, I work as a civil engineer in North Carolina designing water and sewer pipelines for a 100 year old consulting engineer firm. Mostly we do large diameter designs for capital improvement projects for municipal clients (like 10 miles of 36” water main size projects). I love what I do, love my family, and love the hobby of PC gaming. My two teens have moved from PS4 to PC so I’m trying to get them into Arma3 but its a been a chore. I also like spending time with family getting outdoors, just started N scale model railroading, and love photography (nature and of course any aircraft I see). A year ago I started running just to feel better. I’m doing about 2 miles, three times a week just to stay in better shape and have more energy. I ran only my second ever 5k race in March just to see if I could finish it. I’m usually not saying much in-game so you won’t often hear me. I’ll often play any role that’s needed when I first join. If the Atlis server is full or getting full, you’ll often find me over on Tanoa seeing how much damage I can do solo until someone else joins. You’d be surprised what one person can do in the AO with some patience and stealth. Anyway, happy to be a part of this community at the Volition Servers, the only multiplayer server I play on. I appreciate the great job the moderators do keeping things fun and squad focused. Pic of me at the 5k this past march.1 point

I'm asked about my load out a lot. Primary is the one and only - Mar 10 with LRPS scope. Always supressed unless It's a HQ Defense. My Bergen pack is stuffed with magazines, I carry 38+ the loaded 10. My kit is specifically chosen to eliminate personal only. I have found that using the suppressor allows you to wipe out a crew of 4-10 @300M+ without them getting a shot on you. Unsupressed with a lot of experiments I have found that it will shorten their counter response time. In a similar scenario, I'll pop 3 of them before they start shooting back at you. I almost always run around with thermals. At least 85% of the time it takes 1 round to kill an enemy. In my opinion, this is the best kit if you enjoy just running and takin down infanty.1 point

Welcome, stranger! My name is Appdata, or Mike as my in-game name, and I am just the usual, regular player you might meet online, without the toxic and unnecessarily aggressive personality bits. I will always meet with open arms new users, because aggressiveness and toxicity is not a personality characteristic, but just an obnoxious, attention seeking method. About you Well, I have a rather high enjoyment on the creation of topics/threads on gaming forums that will prove helpful to other users, such as guides, guidelines, and other informative topics. That said, this forum has a unique format code I haven't seen before... it's gonna take a while to get used to. Most likely than now, I will spend most of my time in the Discord server and the forums, more than the game server itself. What do you seek to accomplish in the community? As previously mentioned: To create as many quality, well-invested information topics on the forum. This is not my first ride, as I got experience on other gaming communities I've passed by before. Some of my previous experience projects were kept in a now defunct forum, from the 'COD5 Community'. I have a text saved for the Forum Rules of said community, but unfortunately it's BBCode, and therefore porting it to this forum will require starting from scratch. Yeah, this forum has a unique forum formatting code, but I will eventually get the hang on it. I do not have any administrative goals in mind, I'm rather interested in the creation of informative topics. However, if the opportunity comes, maybe some day I will look up and set a new goal. Who knows what the future has to offer. Examples Not everything was lost in the forum of the COD5 Community, as I moved to another, more recent community: Phoenix V I, Appdata, decided to break my personal record on invested in a forum project as to comparison to my previous CODE5 project, the Forum Rules (composed with introduction, colors, quotes, examples, for each and every 21 of the rules). I knew it'd be a big investment to attempt to break that record, but I still decided to continue in my goal to set a new limit... ...and so I did. My Biggest Project: Bug Tracker The Bug Tracker was created for the COD5 Community, but due to the closure of the community, I stopped development. Eventually, I restarted it from the ground, but this time, in Google Documents. Before I could even start this project, I had to learn a whole new formatting from Google Docs and Google Charts. The early phases of my development were demanding me to stop and just play a game and forget this. But I persisted. And finished. With nothing else to say, I want to introduce you to my biggest, to this date, project I have developed in my own (hell, even my collaborations from past projects can't match this). Bug Tracker The bug tracker was created with the most detail my knowledge on the basics of Google Sheets could allow me to, sacrificing my time to elaborate as much simplicity for any other user I would allow to add new bugs to the list. The ease of use of this document is as easy as 1-2-3 (the early stages were not and required a rather unnecessarily complex procedure that I feared would discourage users from adding new bugs). The version you're seeing is the backup version to use in case of griefing, aka the fully clean, release candidate, version. Tracker Manual Not only did I spend a month on the learning of Sheets and the creation of the Bug Tracker, but also spent some of that time creating a manual. Yes, a manual. I created a manual with the purpose to elaborate with as much detail as possible on what category every game bug should be put. Not only did I go through every bug category I could think of, but also made examples, charts, table of content, and so much more! If I thought the Bug Tracker was difficult because of the new formatting of the Google Sheets, little did I know that the Tracker Manual would be difficult not because of the formatting, but by typing 32,085 words. Changelog As you can tell already, I am very, over the line, organized, so it comes to no surprise I kept my organization - wait for it - organized. I created a changelog to keep track of any changes to either the manual, the tracker, or even the changelog itself. Due to the stability of the documents, no changes have been made (thankfully). See you later! So I have demonstrated I am capable of creating well shaped informative topics, and every once in a while when planets align, a big project like the one above. Hopefully I will have the time and motivation to break that personal record with yet another project, who knows. This will not be the last time you'll see me in the forums, but until next time, see you later!1 point

I am about 2 weeks into finding this VS invade and annex server and I have to say, it is by far the best I've played on. It's what I look for everyones pretty much helpful and best of all its PvE! I play any role but mainly Autorifleman and Medic when available. Not a very serious "sir" type of dude I just like to relax, drink a cold beer and enjoy the game. So if you guys want to play add me on Steam so we can team up!1 point

Id like to propose the idea of allowing certain mods on the server that are just client side based. By client side mods i am describing mods that do not interfere with the game play of other players and essentially enhances the game play of the default game such as... -JSRS Sound Mod -Blastcore -CBA I am new to the community and do not know if this topic has been addressed before me, if so I apologize. Id like to ask for the community feedback on this topic. Would you like to allow mods that enhance the default game? and if so what mods would you like to see? Leave you Input Below1 point

Oh, and I'm always drinking when I play so if you don't like me today, I probably misunderstood and said something dumb. Give me another chance tomorrow. Unless I really don't like you, which there only like 3 people I've met so far that fall into that category. If you try to talk to me and I don't respond, I'm probably concentrating on my scope. Try again in a minute. Good luck to you all out there! Simo1 point

Hi Everybody! My name's Majure and I'm starting to be a regular visitor on the Arma 3 Invade and Annex server. A group of friends and I have been looking at getting back into ArmA, and we wanted something that accessible and open-ended so that as more and more of our friend group purchased the game, they had an easy way to get their feet wet. This server, and community has been an excellent opportunity for that. Thank you all so much for this wonderful server and community. I look forward to seeing a lot more of y'all moving forward. A little about me: I've been goofing around on Steam since late 07, mostly playing things like Gmod (Half-Life 2 serious roleplay, Fallout RP, and more recently Clone Wars rp). I've done a bit of time in the ArmA unit scene, for a while in A2 with a pretty generic infantry unit, and also with a small special operations group called Joint Task Force Bayonet, where I learned a lot more about milsim and was fortunate enough to do some Pararescue milsim training alongside a former real-life PJ. That being said, I spend most of my time server-side as a CLS, and am hoping to figure out how one gets whitelisted for those hot Recon Paramedic roles.1 point
