This report was done in partnership with Anzu, an advertising platform, and really highlights why many studios have subscribed to the Free-to-Play business model.

This report also shows that 85% of Gen Z and 80% of Millenials watch eSports as well as 62% of adults play video games.

In our promotional video, I outlined 4 promises to start our pursuit of our greater mission statement.
1. We will provide and maintain a healthy Discord server for you and your friends.
2. We are bringing the community together.
3. We will keep the community informed.
4. We will provide game servers for our player base to enjoy.

So how are things going so far? 🤔

1. We will provide and maintain a healthy Discord server for you and your friends.
Even with our raised activity, the Discord server population is declining.  Fear not!  This is great news and evidence of our dedication to maintaining a healthy Discord server!

Our moderation team are still hard at work pruning bots and scammers.  Better late than never; we are combing through our existing members for suspicious accounts that have been around for years.  Thank you to everyone reporting predatory behavior.  It's a never ending battle, so please give the team some appreciation!  Thank you @Junko and @Eggnog

2. We are bringing the community together.

As laid out in the Some Unhinged Meme News post, gaming news has been relatively calm.  Although I'm personally excited for some upcoming titles, industry news is lacking.  That being said, as promised, you can visit the Gaming-News channel on our Discord to stay up to date on worthwhile news curated for you weekly.  Latest news includes Embracer Group leaning heavy into the AI hype and causing some predictable controversy.

News, announcements and events are going to be cross posted across multiple platforms going forward.  We can definitely use your help in creating worthwhile content that can be shared on multiple websites.  Twitch streams, Medal.tv clips, youtube videos and more can all be invaluable as content that is worthy of being shared on all of our platforms.  As such, we desperately need to find a way to encourage and reward content creators withing Volition Servers.  Please let us know if you have any suggestions and follow us on our other platforms to show your support!

AND I'm beginning 'CPR' on the VS forums over at https://volitionservers.com/ .  Right now, this is only indicated by the cross posting of announcements and news.  I remember @AppData used to post guides and in depth suggestions for our old I&A server.  Maybe one day we can see creative contributions like that once more.  This is all in an effort to improve Search Engine Optimization or (SEO) but hopefully results in diversifying the way our community can engage with Volition Servers.

4. We will provide game servers for our player base to enjoy.
I'm proud to announce that we found an ambitious member of the community with a desire to contribute to the value of Volition Servers.  Coming soon to a server browser near you, Volition Servers will be starting a Valheim server with @TokeMasterGreen as our latest addition to the VS Staff as Game Master.

]]>812Fri, 07 Jun 2024 14:11:43 +0000CS2 Pro Banned from FaceIt for life... again.https://volitionservers.com/topic/811-cs2-pro-banned-from-faceit-for-life-again/ Adam "nbgee12" Zanzoul was caught on camera stealing SSDs from his fellow competitors at the IEM Dallas 2024 tournament.  The SSDs are normally collected and kept in the possession of the officials between matches to prevent cheating.  nbgee managed to swipe 3 of them off the pile and take them to his hotel room.  This all takes place about 2 months after the ESL revoked a previous 100-year ban on the gamer.

On August 17, 2018, @Survivalizer began working on a Volition funded project code-named "Volition Revamp" This project was aimed at providing a more intuitive and immersive experience for the Volition Community. Some of these changes you may have already noticed; however, there is a lot of work left to do.  There will be several changes happening in the near future that will improve volition as a community. We would like to take this time to express our gratitude and appreciation for the amount of support that is given every day.

On this day in 2001 around 3,000 people died during a terrorist attack against the people of the United States of America.

Volition Servers would like to ask for a moment of consideration for the victims and first responders. In our everyday exchanges we will make jokes and references to the darkest times of human history. Humor and tragedy are very unlikely friends, but friends non-the-less. Therefore, if there is ever a time to show some humbling respect, today would be the day.

Jokes and comedy are how we cope with the terrifying evil in our world. The suffering and the tragedies as well. People have served their country so that their families back home can laugh and love in spite of the horrors of the world. 

Today is not a day to feel guilty for making light of a dark day, but an opportunity to consider those that weren't given the chance to laugh with you. Not a moment of silence, but a moment of consideration.

Think deeply of what it must have been like to be there, and acknowledge the horror before you continue the day. We have empathy for those that suffered and nobody should forget that.

On September 11th, 2001 4 passenger planes were hijacked by 19 terrorists that proceeded to fly those planes into premeditated high-profile locations. 2 planes struck the World Trade center towers in New York City, 1 plane crashed into the Pentagon and 1 plane was brought down in a field in Pennsylvania when the passengers on board bravely fought to take back the cockpit from the terrorists. During the events, roughly 3,000 people lost their lives. 

A phone call with one of the passengers on board Flight 93 was recorded before committing there plans to retaliate against the hijackers. After Todd Beamer, 32 years old, finished speaking to his pregnant wife, he can be heard speaking to his fellow Americans, "Are you guys ready? let's roll."

The words Let's Roll are now a part of US culture and the actions of the passengers on board Flight 93 were incredibly brave and truly inspiring.

Finally, I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge that the suffering and horrors of the world are not limited to only the great tragedies of human history. Sometimes it happens in our own homes. Volition Servers would like to remind you that you're not alone, we are comrades both on and off the battlefield. We're all in this together, as brothers and sisters.
